Northern Border University focuses on student-learning outcomes that provide graduates with practical experience to succeed academically, contribute to their communities and enhance competitiveness in the labor market by the Kingdom’s Vision 2030. High-impact educational practices maintain this priority by enabling students to engage in deep learning of the core competencies for academic success. The project of high-impact educational practices was approved with the executive plan for high-impact educational practices by Resolution No. 14 of the fifth session of the University Council for the academic year 1441 AH, held on 07/14/1441 AH - 03/09/2020 AD. The project started based on the decision of The President of the University  412000164  on 01/02/1441 AH to form the Executive Committee to determine the essential competencies of university students. Accordingly, the committee worked to define the essential competencies that should be applied to Northern Border University students and chose only four competencies from high-impact practices through which the acquisition and practice of basic competencies are achieved. The committee recommended that seven main competencies be selected and adopted by the students of Northern Border University.

Improve the quality of education outcomes by applying high-impact educational practices for academic activities and programs.

Mission

  • Preparing the unit's activities plans and following up on their implementation after approval.
  • Prepare and implement high-impact educational practice plans and programs at the university.
  • Preparing, reviewing and analysing reports on unit and performance evaluations and discussing the results with those concerned.
  • Measuring and evaluating high-impact educational practices at the university.
  • Raising awareness among the university's employees, including students, faculty members, and employees, about high-impact educational practices.
  • Evaluate and develop procedures for high-impact educational practices at the university.
  •  Define the performance indicators for all activities related to the unit; review and develop them consistently.
  • Determine the unit's human resource needs and follow up on providing them.
  • Determine the unit's employees' training needs to nominate them for the appropriate training programmes.
  •  Preparing periodic reports on the unit's activities and achievements and suggestions for developing its performance.
