Within the framework of the efforts of Northern Borders University to enhance the quality of the university experience, and develop the system of academic support and student services, His Excellency the Vice President for Academic Affairs, Prof. Saud bin Abdulmohsen Al-Muqham, inaugurated the first edition of the Student Support and Empowerment Forum at the university's branch in Rafha, which was organized by the University Vice Presidency for Academic Affairs under the patronage of His Excellency the President of the University, Prof. Ahmed bin Ali Al-Rumaih, and with the participation of the colleges and relevant university authorities.

The forum was held on Tuesday and Wednesday, October 27 and 28, 2026, where the first day was dedicated to the female section in the study hall in Khalidiyah, and the second day to the student section in the lobby of the College of Science in Al-Qadisiyah, as part of an initiative aimed at bringing university services closer to students, introducing them to the available support and empowerment opportunities, and enhancing direct communication between them and the competent academic and administrative authorities.
The organization of the forum comes as an extension of the university's orientation towards developing an integrated system of student support and empowerment, which goes beyond introducing services to enhancing students' access to them, facilitating their access to the concerned authorities, and providing the opportunity to identify their needs and aspirations, in a way that enhances their effective participation in university life and supports their academic and professional journey. The forum witnessed the presence and participation of academic leaders, faculty members, and students, as well as the participating university entities, where its activities included introducing the services, programs and initiatives directed to students, reviewing academic and advising support paths, opportunities for developing skills and capabilities, and introducing the services provided by colleges, deanships, and supporting departments. The Vice President for Academic Affairs stressed the importance of such initiatives in enhancing integration between university entities, developing communication channels with students, and transforming the available services and programs into actual opportunities for students to benefit from during their university journey, pointing out the university's keenness to ensure that support and empowerment initiatives reach its various branches, and take into account the needs of students in their various academic environments. The visit included meetings with officials in the branch's colleges, during which a number of topics related to the progress of academic work, the needs of educational programs, and the services provided to students were reviewed, in addition to discussing development opportunities and enhancing coordination between the colleges and the competent authorities at the university.

The visit also allowed to visit a number of academic facilities, review the efforts made in serving students, and follow up on aspects related to the readiness of the educational environment and the requirements of the academic process, within the framework of the interest of the University Vice Presidency for Academic Affairs in continuous field follow-up, and unify the level of care for educational services at the university's headquarters and branches. This visit, in conjunction with the establishment of the Student Support and Empowerment Forum, reflects the keenness of the Northern Borders University to link student initiatives with field academic follow-up, enhance the presence of university leaders at the sites of providing educational services, listen to the views of the concerned authorities, and support continuous development and improvement efforts. The Student Support and Empowerment Forum is one of the initiatives adopted by the University Vice Presidency for Academic Affairs to enhance institutional integration in the service of students, highlight the opportunities and services available to them, and consolidate the concept of empowerment as an extended path that includes academic support, skills development, preparation for the future career, and improving the university experience in all its dimensions.
